Hi all.

I am looking to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend and before going to a retail outlet i wanted to review some of the online sites. Upon browsing eBay I saw some rings that sparked my interest.

One particular ring claimed to have been appraised at $5500 with a reserve bid of $965. I assumed this would be bid on and the end total would be closer to the appraisal figure. But once the auction expired i saw than nobody had bid at all and a potential bid of $965 would have won the auction!

Obviously this sounds too good to be true. I did some research on the carat weight, cut, color and clarity and when comparing to some retail prices and also checked out a couple online diamond calculators it was pretty close.

The seller has 3000k positive reviews so seems to be genuine.

Is there anything else I can look out for or any warning signs I can look for? Thanks!

if the seller offers a phone number or something you can call, you know they mean true business and they're not out to get you. I know for example dimka on ebay accepts phone calls about his mercandise. I've dealt with him before, and he was very nice about it. So, look out for contact information. Quantity doesn't always mean quality, so watch out when you're looking at numbers.

It is best to check out other online stores, prices and read store reviews. You should also ask for recommendations, and other things that can help you to identify the reputable diamond retailer online.

A good way is to check the seller's reviews. Also, I always ask for certification with the item, whether it be with diamonds, purses etc.

be careful with ebay. for the price you are willing to spend you can also buy from a well known reputable online site.

First of all you should become familiar with your special woman’s taste in jewelry. Since you intend to surprise her (although she may have been expecting it) you have to be discreet in searching her heart for that special ring of her desire. You can get a lot of advice and help, but the best way is to use your own heart – along with the following guidelines! There are three fundamental aspects to take into consideration when selecting a diamond ring: the stone, the metal for the band, and the design and setting. Cool

Hi, frankly speaking I had the same problem that you. We don't have enough good jewelry stores in Alaska. They have a very expensive prices and the rings looks like a screw-nut. I found this store naymark.com I made 2 purchases here and I was very glad to have business with this company. They have a very good customer suprot, reasonable prices and very fast shipping.

It is really important to get your ring certified when you are buying it and it is more secure and safe.

Hi everyone! I want to buy some jewelry for the wedding of my friend? But i am confused that which would be the best jewelry for the wedding. A Gold jewelry would make sense or a Diamond Jewelry would be best? Can anyone help me please? If you have good online jewelry store, please write me.
