Rinse the diamond with running water to remove the loose dirt on the diamond.
Use a mild detergent or Jewelry cleaning solution to clean the diamond. Dont use regular soaps since it leaves chemicals and residue on the diamond.
Scrub the diamond with Soft bristle brush and rinse it with running water.
Dry the diamond with lint-free cloth.
Here comes your sparkling and luminous diamond!

Mix one part Mr. Clean (available at most major supermarkets) to eight parts of hot water. (Water does not need to be boiling hot). Carefully soak your diamond jewelry for a short period of time in this solution - approximately 10 - 15 minutes is usually enough. (Reminder: Please do not put pearl jewelry or emerald jewelry into this solution - pearls are too soft and some emeralds may discolor). Remove all your diamond jewelry slowly and gently brush off residue and dirt with a SOFT bristle toothbrush. Rinse well with water, set jewelry aside to let air dry. You now have diamond jewelry that sparkles and is full of fire and brilliance. http://in.88db.com/bangalore/html/images/articles/lifestyle/index.html

What is the best way to clean and care for a diamond?
Diamond is the hardest substance known to man. First take a shallow bowl and mix a little household detergent in warm water. Place your jewels in the bath for a few seconds and gently brush with a soft old toothbrush. Then transfer them carefully to a wire tea strainer or a sieve and rinse under running water. Pat dry with a soft cotton cloth immediately. Your jewels will glitter like new now. While cleaning any jewel in the warm detergent bath, avoid harsh fibres, household scrub or coarse powder. Use only a mild household detergent. for more details visit http://www.ansjewelry.com/jewel_information.aspx

I have thousands of costumers in my business and I advise them, to clean all they jewelery by making a paste with Bicarbonate of soda and dish-washing soup, brush it with toothbrush and rinse in warm water. When they come for repairs and alterations I don't have problem to clean they jewelery before the work.

Mixing Mr. Clean or any dish washing soap with water works for me. I also make sure that the toothbrush I'd use to scrub is soft, and that the sink drain is covered. I almost lost a ring for forgetting to do it.

I used a natural cleaner from Whole Foods to clean my husbands and my wedding rings. It did a good job. Next time I want to try the ultrasonic cleaning, my friends swears by it.

Avoid chlorine, including that in swimming pools and hot tubs. To clean, you can use a solution of ammonia and water (half and half) and use a soft tooth brush that's never had toothpaste on it. Be sure to rinse. You can also take it to a jeweler and have them put the jewelry in an ultrasonic cleane
