What jewelry goes with my black dress?

I am trying to figure out what color jewelry and what makeup works best for my prom look. I would go with gold. Honestly I would have to some a nice piece of either white gold or sterling silver. Some sparkle! A crystal necklace would go fantastic. I just find it pops.
